What I want to hear Obama say tomorrow
President Barack Obama has done a great job of telling us we need change, but now I want him to change.
Stop being the push-over nice guy and take it back to the obstreperous Republican right wing that has their party in a headlock of zealotry.
I want to hear Obama in delivering his State of the Union speech tomorrow (Wednesday Jan. 27) to blow Joshua’s horn and bring down the wall of the Republican Philistines who have been hamstringing America by rejecting everything Obama has tried to do to a crumbling pile of pebbles.
I want Obama to show the Republican Rejectionists whose chorus of unending “No, no, no, no, no” that they can no longer hold the American people hostage.
I want to hear Obama start his speech off with these exact words: “Ladies and Gentlemen of this joint session of Congress, the House and the Senate, I am here on behalf of the American people to open up a can of whoop-ass if you don’t stop playing political games and start doing what’s right for America.”
I don’t want to hear any more of his no longer inspiring Oprah Winfrey speeches like “We’re not Blue States. We’re not Red States. We’re the United States.” I want to hear him throw down the gauntlet and declare in a resounding voice and pointing at the leadership of the Republican “rejection front,” that “You are all liars!”
And he can even add some emotion in his voice, too.
Why is the Democratic party coddling “Traitor Joe” Lieberman? The guy was tossed out of the Democratic Party and he is a selfish SOB who cares more about foreign countries and their free government sponsored healthcare than he does about the well-being of America.
They’re been cowering, fearful that Lieberman will deny them their 60th anti-filibuster vote. You know what? That was a stupid strategy. Obama should have come up with another strategy that assumed the worst and anticipated that they wouldn’t have the 60 votes they needed to pass healthcare.
Why give an unpatriotic sell-out to the robber barons of the Health insurance industry all that power?
He should have been the first person to be taken out. They should have stripped him of every committee, every power, every access and then turned the power of the White House on Lieberman’s state and put every freakin’ public project on hold.
Why should the rest of America reward rejectionism for the sake of selfish politics? Let the people of Connecticut deal with the whoop-ass repercussions for his refusal to do the right thing for America and Americans first.
Use your political power to play the same game that Bush and Cheney played during their 8 years of destructive international cowboy-ism. Except do it with good intentions.
Spare the rod and spoil the Congress.
I want Obama to declare that the days when the national Republicans can define the debate are over and start taking an active role in telling Americans the truth about healthcare, that it has been sucked dry by the robber barons in the health insurance industry and our health problems are the direct result of that industry’s priority for money rather than concern for our well-being.
The “public option” isn’t a government-run program at all but a small plan to help a segment of our society that have no health care and whose subsequent health problems have burdened the rest of American society with more costs and taxes than the actual cost would be to give them free health care.
What are you afraid of, Mr. President? That you will become the very evil doers who destroyed this country under the last administration?
I would rather have a president who was tough on his foes and achieved the best programs for the American people than one who whimpers in the face of 100 percent rightwing extremist Republican rejectionism and sees all of the good programs this country needs desperately go down the toilet.
Personally, I have had enough of people like Ohio’s vicious Republican leader John Boehner who hides behind fear-mongering to disguise his racism and his selfish agenda that he openly admits is designed not to achieve health care benefits for the people of America but rather to bring Obama down.
These people are trying to destroy you, Mr. President. And in the process of bringing you down they don’t mind at all bringing down the rest of America. Because if they can make it look like that downfall of America is your fault, they can take over with an even more ferocious goal of stripping down American rights to their lowest common denominator of ideological insanity.
If you can’t be tough, Mr. President, then save us all the trouble of listening and don’t waste our time.
