Man Killed in Home In Marquette Manor
A 28-year-old man was shot and killed last weekend inside his home on the 6400 block of South Oakley.

Robert Liggins died en route to Christ Hospital, at 12:12 p.m. May 10.

According to witnesses, a male exited a dark blue Chevy Monte Carlo and ran into the gangway.

Witnesses then told police they heard one gunshot and saw the offender run out of the gangway and jump back into the vehicle. The witnesses then went inside the home and saw Liggins lying in a puddle of blood.

The shooter was described as a black male, 6’1, between 180 and 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black braided hair. He was wearing a black jacket.

According to police, a blood trail followed down a flight of stairs in the home where there was a large pile of money.

Police said they then went into the attic and recovered one bag of cannabis, one bag containing 17 Ziploc bags each containing cannabis, a digital gram scale and baggies, $1,565 in cash, and 15 plastic bags each containing cannabis.

Roy McNeil, 54, who lives at the Oakley address, was charged with felony possession of cannabis.

Police are still investigating the murder.

Four Rob Taxi Driver in Garfield Ridge

A cab driver was robbed at gunpoint on the 6300 block of South Mozart at about 9:10 p.m. Sunday.

The cab driver was dispatched to the location to meet a customer when he was approached by a woman who distracted the driver while another offender jumped into the back door on the driver’s side. Another offender stood in front of the cab while the offender in the back seat put a gun to the victim’s head and demanded money. A fourth offender approached the driver’s side window and punched the victim in the face.

The four offenders fled after taking $120 in cash and the driver’s cell phone.

One of the offenders was described as a white woman in her 20’s, 5’5 and 105 pounds. She was wearing a black top and dark jeans. Another offender was described as a black woman, in her 20’s, and about 5’6. She was wearing a brown jacket with a hood.

Another offender was described as a black male, in his 20’s, 5’5 and 130 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket and a dark baseball cap. The fourth offender was described as a black male, in his 20’s, 5’1 and 220 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

Man Shot Twice While Pumping Gasoline
A man was shot twice as he was pumping gasoline on the 3000 block of West 63rd Street at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

The 23-year-old victim was sitting in the driver’s seat with the door open while pumping gas when four males pulled up next to him in a 2000 small black van. Two of the men got out of the vehicle and approached the victim, with one firing five gunshots.

The victim was struck twice — once in the right knee and once in the left knee — and the offenders fled the scene. Two witnesses put the victim in a tan van and drove him to Holy Cross Hospital.

The one offender was described as a black male, with a dark bandanna. The second offender was described as a black male with dark clothing.

Senior Robbed after Making Withdrawal
A 62-year-old man was robbed on the 6000 block of South Western after making a bank withdrawal at about 9:25 a.m. Saturday, May 10.

Walking to his vehicle after leaving the bank at 61st and Western, the victim was approached by a man on a bicycle. The offender approached from behind, yelled at the victim, pointed a blue steel handgun and demanded money.

The victim gave the man $320 in cash, and the offender fled south on his bicycle.

The offender was described as black, 19 to 21 years old, 5’11 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hoody and blue jeans. The offender matched the description of the offender of a similar robbery that occurred at the same location on April 24.

Teen Jumped and Robbed
A 19-year-old male was riding his bike when he was jumped and robbed on the 6300 block of South Mobile at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

Four offenders, described only as male Hispanics, jumped out of a vehicle, tackled the victim, punched and kicked him, and took his cell phone.

Man Robs Hair Salon with Knife
A man robbed the hair studio at 3222 W. 55th St. at 2:31 p.m. last Friday.

The offender, after asking the owner how much a girl’s haircut costs, pulled out a knife and demanded money. The offender took off with $100 in cash and fled in an unknown direction.

He was described as Hispanic, between 35 and 40 years of age, 5’10 and 175 pounds, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a gray hoody.

Teen Shot while Smoking Cigarette
An 18-year-old male was shot while smoking a cigarette at 12:34 a.m. Saturday, May 10 on the 5900 block of South Rockwell.

The victim went outside to have a cigarette when an unknown male opened fire. The victim turned away, but was struck in the shoulder. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

The offender was described as a Hispanic male, 5’10 and 160 pounds, with a shaved head. He was wearing a black hoody and black pants.
