The Queen’s Guild of Queen of the Universe Parish will have its Card and Bunco at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 16. Tickets are $5 each, and there are raffle book chances with three big winners as well as other prizes.

I want to thank Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas, who sent a nice letter regarding Polish Constitution Day in honor of the Government Act declared by the Sejm in 1791. “It is an honor to offer my best wishes to all celebrating Polish Constitution Day, in honor of the Government Act declared by the Sejm in 1791.” She also congratulated all of the Chicago Polish community on this historic date.

The Queen’s Seniors had a great time May 1 at the Four Winds Casino traveling with bus driver Owen Draper, and we thank Vito and Helen Ventrella for arranging the trip. The large happy group had a “mucho” buffet, and there was no rain although it was forecast.
Poppy Days on May 22-24 will begin at 6 a.m., and all monies collected will go toward veterans’ causes. So remember to give generously, as well as pray for those service men and women currently overseas.
Memorial Day on Monday, May 26 is a national holiday, and we hope that you pray for all deceased as well as fly your flags on that day to honor them as well as honor our country.
