Oustanding Warrants
An Oak Lawn woman was arrested for having two warrants at 9:18 p.m. April 29 in the parking lot of Brunswick Bowl, 4700 W. 103rd St.
Police saw Susan Pasky, 36, from the 5300 block of West 96th Street, get into her vehicle, which matched the description of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Oak Lawn on Jan. 25 on Central Avenue and Southwest Highway.
Pasky also had a warrant out for her arrest for a DUI charge in Palos Heights.
Speeeding and Eluding Police
A Bridgeview man was arrested after allegedly fleeing from police on 95th and Marion at 1:06 p.m. April 25.
An officer was traveling on Southwest Highway and saw a white Ford pick-up truck travel 54 miles per hour in a 30 zone. According to police, the officer turned around and activated his lights when the pick-up made a right hand turn on Tulley. But the driver allegedly sped up, and the officer lost him.
The driver, Michael Tansini, 21, from Fairlane Drive, was stopped by another officer on the 9500 block of Marion. The first officer showed up and positively identified Tansini as the driver.
According to police, Tansini denied driving on Southwest Highway even after the officer showed Tansini the camera in the vehicle. He is charged with speeding and eluding the police.
Arrested for Assault
A man was arrested for assault after allegedly threatening an employee of Foodie Food store, 9652 S. Pulaski Road, at about 6:40 a.m. April 25.
Police were called to an assault in progress and arrested David Hancock, 46, from the 3900 block of West 97th Street, for threatening to shoot one of the employees after Hancock was asked to leave for excessive loitering.
Leaving The Scene Of Accident
Police were called to the 5200 block of West 111th Street for a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident at 11:56 p.m. April 27.
Police arrested Adam Johnson, 31, from the 11400 block of South Nashville in Worth, and charged him with driving under the influence.
Police arrived on the scene and found that the light pole on the northeast corner had been knocked down. They then followed a trail of anti-freeze to a parking lot at 5540 W. 111th St.
They spoke to the driver of the vehicle, Johnson, who allegedly smelled of alcohol. The vehicle had front-end damage. Johnson allegedly failed the field sobriety tests and was charged.
Theft At Jewel
A Chicago man was arrested for trying to steal from Jewel Foods, 4650 W. 103rd St., at about 4:30 p.m. April 29.
An employee said he saw Paul Kelsin, 49, from the 3400 block of West 54th Street, walking around and selecting items and putting them into a cart. Then Kelsin allegedly went into an aisle and concealed items in his jacket and pants.
Kelsin, however, was stopped after he exited the store and escorted back to the office. Police said the concealed merchandise — two packs of enchiladas, a bottle of juice, roll of sausage, deodorant and a drug test kit — was valued at $54.10, and Kelsin was charged with retail theft.
Jewel Shoplifter Arrested
An Oak Lawn woman was charged with stealing from Jewel, 9424 S. Pulaski Road, at about 7:55 p.m. April 29.
Valori Whitehead, 43, from the 10000 block of South Cicero, was allegedly seen placing multiple packs of meat in her purse.
Whitehead then allegedly walked past the last point of purchase without paying for the merchandise and was stopped by a loss prevention officer. The total value of merchandise was $63.84, and she was charged with retail theft.
