For Catholics, Christians John Is The Real McCain
Editor: Those of you who are Catholic (or Christian), and are undecided as to who to vote for this coming presidential election, should be aware that while Sen. John McCain has vowed to finish the job in Iraq,
Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have promised to abandon our commitments once again just as we did in Vietnam, throwing the whole Middle East into an uncontrollable catastrophe killing and maiming millions and crippling the world’s economy.
We should be aware that President Bush (who has been crucified for attacking Iraq in the universally held belief that unpredictable Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons) has accomplished meritorious work that Obama and Clinton have sworn to undo.
Besides putting two pro-life conservative judges on the Supreme Court, Bush stopped the funding of organizations around the world who were performing or promoting abortions with our tax money. He has also worked to protect the unborn victims of violence (those who manage to survive abortions), and has fought to end the inhumane practice of partial-birth abortions.
President Bush has also been in the forefront in the battle to preserve big city Catholic schools, which have been closing in record numbers due to tax incentive restrictions and the increased cost of that education since scores of nuns abandoned their traditional roles as teachers.
Realizing that our floundering society needs moral guidance now more than ever, Sen. McCain has promised to continue these conservative measures while the liberal Democratic candidates are promoting permissive, irresponsible behavior that has already severely damaged our society.
