Two Males Robbed at Gunpoint
Two males were robbed at about 7:50 a.m. last Friday on the 6300 block of South Talman.
The victims were approached by a man who displayed a chrome automatic handgun and demanded money. The victims surrendered their wallets and money, and the offender fled in an unknown direction.
He was described as black, 20 years old, 5’7 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a black and white hoodie and dark pants.
Two Arrested and Charged with Robbery
Two teens were arrested and charged after trying to rob a male around 11 p.m. Sunday on the 5700 block of South Richmond.
Hector Gambina, 19, and Mario Chino, 18, both from the 5700 block of South Mozart, were charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, Gambina and Chino yelled at the victim and pointed a riffle at him before fleeing the scene.
Soon after the victim flagged down police, the officers saw the offenders walking and one of them dropped the weapon. Police arrested the two teens and found a B.B. gun a few feet from them.
Man Robbed in Chicago Lawn
A male was robbed on the 3300 block of West 72nd Street at about 6:45 p.m. April 26.
The victim was approached by two males displaying a handgun and demanding money. They pushed the victim up against a vehicle and went through his pockets, removing $300 in cash. The two then fled the scene heading east.
The offenders were both described as black males, 19-years-old, 6’0 and 180 pounds. They were both wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans. One had on a black baseball hat with a red rim, the other was wearing black gym shoes.
Restaurant Robbed in Garfield Ridge
Burrito Grande, 5108 S. Archer Ave., was robbed at 10:44 p.m. Thursday, April 24.
According to police, two males entered the restaurant with silver handguns pointing at the people inside.
One of the offenders went behind the counter and removed $300 in cash. He allegedly tried getting into the back kitchen area, but was unable to get through a locked door, which he kicked several times and caused some damage. One of the offenders then threw the restaurant’s phone on the floor, causing it to break.
The two then grabbed a laptop and another victim’s wallet and fled the scene.
One of the offenders was described as a black male, 19 years old, 5’10 and 150 pounds. The other was described as a black male, 19-years-old, 5’8 and 170 pounds. Both were wearing black pants and a black hoodie.
Shots Fired at Vehicle on Pulaski Road
According to police, a black four door Nissan opened fire on another vehicle on the 8400 block of South Pulaski at about 1 a.m. Saturday, April 26.
Pulling up next to the victims’ vehicle, those in the Nissan reportedly began to display gang signs and open fire at the victims. The victims fled and drove to the Chicago Lawn (8th) Police District to file a report.
According to police, the victims knew one of the offenders.
Man Robbed after Making Withdrawal
A man was robbed of $1,000 at about 11:35 a.m. April 24 on the 6000 block of South Western Avenue.
While walking to his vehicle after making a $1,000 withdrawal from his bank, the victim was approached by a man on a bicycle who displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim gave the money to the offender, who rode off in an unknown direction.
The offender was described as black, 24 years old, 5’9 and 170 pounds. He was wearing dark clothes and a baseball cap.
Taxi Driver Robbed after Pick-Up
A taxi driver was robbed on the 4200 block of West 76th Street at about 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 23.
The driver picked up a male from Pole Katz, 7373 W. 100th Place, in Burbank, and was told to drive to the 4200 block of West 76th Street to pick up his friend.
But when they got to the house, a man got into the cab, pointed a gun at the driver’s head and demanded money. The driver gave the man $330 to $340 in cash. The offender then pointed the gun at the passenger and took his money too.
The offender got out of the cab and ran down the street until jumping into an unidentified vehicle. He was described as a Hispanic male, 24 or 25 years old, 5’8 and 190 pounds. He was wearing black clothes and a black baseball hat.
