May 2, 2008   Southwest News-Herald - City

We have lots going on in and around the neighborhood so let’s check it out:

First, best wishes to Eulalie Hudson who has just retired from St. Adrian Parish having served as the secretary/receptionist for the last 13 years. Her friendly smile and can do attitude will certainly be missed. Welcome to Christina Gutierrez who will be taking Eulalie’s place.

Also at St. Adrian, Cardinal Francis George last week announced the appointment of Rev. Tom Mescall as the new administrator of the parish, effective July 1. Father Mescall is currently the associate pastor of St. Denis Parish. He was ordained in 2004 and has celebrated Mass a number of times at St. Adrian over the past year.

Dominican Sister Simone Antonich recently passed away at the age of 89. Sister taught at St. Brendan (1940-47), St. Thomas More (1954-58), St. Sabina (1962-63), and visitation Grammar School (1966-67).

Felician Sister Mary Bertrande Koppa recently passed away at the age of 98. Among the schools Sister taught at from 1931-82 were St. John of God, St. Bruno and St. Turibius.

Congratulations to Sister of St. Casimir Mary Balkus on the celebration of her 60th Jubilee.
