Today is Administrative Professionals Day. I would like to wish all administrative assistants, secretaries, office managers, etc, a very happy day. Thanks for all you do to keep businesses running smoothly, and your bosses looking good!
April 25 is Red Hat Society Day, so all of you beautiful, mature women — don your red hats and wear them proudly, as a badge of your wisdom and years of experiences. Celebrate the day by attending Movie Time at the Burbank Park District from noon to 2 p.m. April 25 at the Newcastle Park Recreation Center, 8050 S Newcastle Ave. This free event is for Burbank residents only, ages 55 and up. If you haven’t yet heard the Reavis High School Band and Choir perform, don’t miss your last chance of this school year! The band and choir will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, May 9 in the Reavis High School Auditorium, 6034 W 77th St. Refreshments will be served, and freewill donations will be accepted and appreciated. The Prairie Trails Public Library is hosting some wonderful programs for babies and children. Babies’ Lapsit, for infants up to 18 months, will be held at 10 a.m. May 5. Toddler Time for children ages 18 months to 2 years will be held at 10 a.m. May 6 and again at 6:30 p.m. May 7. Parents must be present for both of these programs.
Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 who are not yet in kindergarten will be held on May 6 at 6:30 pm, and again on May 7 at 10 a.m. The After School Club is held on May 1 and May 8 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. for school children in kindergarten through second grade.

In May the Burbank Park District will sponsor a day trip to Springfield, Illinois to visit the Lincoln Library and Museum, Lincoln’s tomb, the Executive Mansion, and other historical sites.
The motor coach bus will leave Newcastle Park, 8050 S. Newcastle Ave., at 6 a.m. and return at approximately 9 p.m. The cost is $55 and residents may register at the Newcastle Park Recreation Center. For more information, call (708) 599-2070.
