Today (Friday, April 11) is the last day to submit an enrollment application for the Chicago International Charter School-Wrightwood Campus, 8130 S. California Ave., for the 2008-09 school year. Scottsdale Highlights
Saturday, April 12 is “Bunco Night.” Doors of St. Bede the Venerable’s church hall, 8200 S. Kostner Ave., open at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., the dice roll. The parish’s Women’s Guild hosts the entertaining evening. Advanced tickets are $20, which includes a bonus raffle ticket.
At the door, tickets may be purchased for $25. If you bring two cans of food to donate, you will receive an extra raffle ticket.

April is “National Poetry Month,” and April 13 to 19 is “National Library Week.” So, visit your local library branch and check out a book and read it.
The Chicago Public Library recently announced the 14th book in the “One Book, One Chicago” program (it’s like the largest book club ever!) — Raymond Chandler’s The Long Goodbye. This murder mystery stars fictionalized private detective “Philip Marlowe.” (Books and book clubs and discussions are not just for the ladies — they’re for men too.)
