Former OL Resident Charles Adams Dies
Charles X. Adams, 81, a former Oak Lawn resident, died April 1 at a hospital in Libertyville.

Mr. Adams, a former World War II Navy veteran, worked for more than 30 years at 3M.

He is survived by his sons, John and Mark; sisters, Gertrude Strepek, Anne Marzullo and Lucille Chyna; and dear friend, Dolores Sikora.

Services were Monday from Hann Funeral Home to St. Fabian Church. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

George Skocipick, An OL Resident, Dies
George J. Skocipick, 88, died April 4 at his Oak Lawn home.

Mr. Skocipick was a national service manager for McCain Manufacturing. A World War II Army veteran, he was the chaplain of Archer Highland American Legion Post 698 and a member of Ted Stempien VFW Post 8821.

Mr. Skocipick is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cecilia (nee Boone); daughters, Linda Fellion, Loretta “Lorie” Goggins and Mary Jane Skocipick; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday from Szykowny Funeral Home (Jonathan F. Siedlecki, Director) to St. Catherine of Alexandria Church. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery.



Robert Cassidy
Robert P. Cassidy, 71,  died March 29 at his Oak Lawn home.

Mr. Cassidy, an Army veteran, was a retired sheet-metal worker.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Cassidy (nee Peacock); sons, Robert G. and Tony Cassidy; daughters, Rita Marie Rodriguez and Bridget K. Daniels; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Lila McElliott, Joan Doyle and Jeanette Caponera; brothers, William and Thomas Cassidy; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were last Wednesday from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home to St. Thomas More Church in Chicago. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
