Women's Club Meetings

Robin Baumgarten, morning news anchor at WGN-TV Channel 9 and a 1986 graduate of Queen of Peace High School, will serve as the honorary chair and master of ceremonies at Queen of Peace High School’s 5th Annual Mazzuchelli Scholarship Benefit.

Baumgarten and Peace’s Board of Directors host the dinner auction at the Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook. The Mazzuchelli Scholarship event — Buona Sera, A Good Night for a Great Benefit — is the school’s largest annual academic scholarship and financial-aid fund-raiser for students. 

Since its inception four years ago, Buona Sera has raised more than $160,000 in scholarship dollars. This year, Queen of Peace granted $212,400 in direct academic scholarships and tuition assistance to 191 students and was able to assist an additional 43 students by partnering with outside sources.

This year’s affair includes hors d’oeuvres, a grand buffet and sweet table, live entertainment and valet parking for $125 per person. The benefit will be held at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook from 6 to 10 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling (708) 458-7600, ext. 250 or visit www.peaceleads.info.

The Hometown-Murray Ladies Auxiliary Post 9773 will hold its annual penny social (silent auction) from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at the post, 9092 Main St., Hometown.

Nickel, dime and quarter tables will be available. A raffle table and a “sorry” table will also be included. Food will be reserved.

Argo-Summit, Bedford Park Woman’s Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at the Bedford Park Community Building, 6700 S. 78th Ave., Bedford Park.

The program for this month is on “Conservation.”

Easter basket preparations will on Saturday, March 22. Also reservations for the Blue Ribbon Fashion Show and Northern Conference are also due.

Members will also attend the Brook Park School’s Consignment Sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5 at the school, 30th and Raymond Avenue, LaGrange Park.

The General Federation of Women’s Club will host the 11th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon and Fashion Show Saturday, April 12 at the Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon is served at 12:30 p.m. The fashion show begins at 1:30 p.m. The registration fee is $35.
