The Safer Foundation’s “Keepin’ It Real” provides both parents and at-risk youths the opportunity to hear about the ìrealî story on inmate life and to learn how to avoid the pitfalls that occur when bad choices are made. 18th Ward Alderman Lona Lane sponsors “Keepin’ It Real” on Thursday, Mar. 27 from 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Bogan High School, 3939 W. 79 St. Attendance of children under 18 years of age require signed parental consent forms. Wrightwood Highlights
The Hayes Park, 2936 W. 85th St., Gym Showcase is tonight, Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. The 45 minute program is open to all, and it costs only $2 to watch the athletic achievements of our neighborhood children and adults. For more detail on the program, contact the park’s office at (312) 747- 6177.
Don’t forget to celebrate Women’s History Month tomorrow, Saturday, March 22 at the Wrightwood-Ashburn Branch Library, 8530 S. Kedzie Ave. The Women of Wrightwood sponsor the History Singers' musical and anecdotal program “Notable Women of American Song” at 1 p.m. in the library’s Community Room. All are invited to attend this entertaining blend of fascinating information and a presentation of the beautiful songs that women made famous. Did you “give up” bingo for Lent this year? Well Lent ends this weekend, so you can play bingo again, and play it at St. Denis Parish's Fr. Fullmer Hall, 83 St. & S. St. Louis Ave., on Thursday evenings. Even play the two $500 games. Thursday night bingo is an on-going fundraiser for St. Denis Parish. At 6 p.m. the doors open.
