Donna Bochenek
Donna “Ma” L. Bochenek (nee Koenig), 73, an Oak Lawn resident, was killed Feb. 26 when she was struck by a car just outside the Chicago laundromat where she worked.

Mrs. Bochenek was going to work at the Suds Factory, 4348 W. 63rd St., when a car, which the driver had lost control of, drove onto the sidewalk and struck her about 20 feet from the laundromat.

Prior to being employed by the Suds Factory, Mrs. Bochenek worked for many decades as a waitress.

She is survived by her sons, Darryl Zacavish and Duane Koehler; daughter, Diane Kolecki; many grandchildren; sister, Brenda Haky; and brother, Herbert Koenig.

Services were Saturday at Foran Funeral Home. Cremation was private.

Josephine Kriz
Josephine Kriz (nee Czuchra), 92, an Oak Lawn resident, died Feb. 24 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Palos Heights.

Mrs. Kriz owned Sugar’s Lounge until her retirement in 1988.

Survivors include her daughter, Vernette Gierhahn; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, John Czuchra; and two nephews.

Services were last Wednesday from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home to St. Catherine of Alexandria Church. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery.

Catherine Matarese
Catherine K. Matarese (nee Kern), 78, died Feb. 26 at her Burbank home.

Mrs. Matarese, a homemaker, is survived by her sons, James, Steven and David; many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Kern; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday from Hann Funeral Home to St. Fabian Church. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Michael Sedor
Michael Sedor, 77, an Oak Lawn resident, died last Wednesday at Palos Hospital.

Mr. Sedor, an Army veteran of the Korean War, was an employee of Central Steel & Wire.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Thomas; brother, Fr. John Sidor; sister, Maria Podhajecka; and nieces and nephews.

Services were at St. Peter & St. Paul Orthodox Church. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery. (Arrangements were by Otto V. Stransky & Son Funeral Home.)

Lucille Sieloff
Lucille Sieloff, 86, a Burbank resident, died Feb. 23 in Evergreen Park.

Mrs. Sieloff, a homemaker, is survived by her son, Cliff; daughter, Sharon Sieloff; and two grandchildren.

Services were last Wednesday at the Lawn Funeral Home. Interment was at Bethania Cemetery.
